We loved the way the good feeling flowed aboard
this flight and lasted all the way to Los Angeles.
Nice going, Captain & Crew of UA Flight 274, March 10, 2014.
Say hello to Frank
Cutler, LAX-based B767/757 Captain and Anna Lenhoff Methot, the First
Officer, both of whom brought us to Los Angeles today with the greeting:
“We love to fly this B757 aircraft;
it’s like a sports car in the air.
“So thanks for empowering us to do
what we love,” Captain Frank said.
While we sat at JFK on the hardstand, some
folks up and down the aircraft were invited to peer into the flight deck
and even sit in the left seat.
We flew over Kentucky (where horseshoes
are lucky), and then above the skiers as they navigated the snow-covered
mountains as we skimmed past a slice of Colorado, only to discover we
rerouted at bit too far south missing the chop, but also the magnificent
Grand Canyon.
“Folks, we are above a meteor crater
that hit the earth 22 million years ago and left a mile-wide reminder
of the incident.
“There it is, just through a break
in the clouds.
“Coming up is Monument Valley, one
of the most magnificent sights in the world,” Captain Frank says.
Turns out Captain Frank “may be retiring
soon” but he has always shared his ride with his passengers, describing
what he loves and sees whilst crossing the continent, a crewmember confides.
High adventure across the great American
landscape and our Captain of the clouds makes it new, refreshing, and
fun all over again.
The way it ought to be!
