Casa 212 Big Rear Cargo

Glen Gates   “CASA 212’s big rear cargo door offers available capacity where it might not have been on the menu previously,” reports Glen Gates, president for Matheson Flight Extenders, the GSA for AAR Airlift.
   Matheson Flight Extenders specializes in terminal handling, scheduled, and on-demand ground support services for the United States Postal Service, FedEx, UPS, DHL, Delta, Asiana, Kalitta, ATI, and Active Aero.    Matheson has terminals in 17 cities across the United States and over 450 employees.
   “These airplanes are based in MLB (Melbourne, Florida) and available for on-demand or scheduled charter,” Glen said.
   “The aircraft recently returned from Afghanistan, where this airframe excels in austere operating environments
   “The CASA 212 is unique in that it has a rear ramp and can hold two LD3's.
   “There was once a large fleet in the U.S. available for air cargo charter (mostly auto parts), however they have been largely gone for the last ten years.”
   But now this “right fit” all cargo option is back, as target customers are moving ships spares, auto parts, and other high value/time sensitive assembly or scheduled operations production inventory or spares.
