leisure's Auslaender Wins Top
Award
Recent
word that fast rising leisure cargo is forging ahead with its just announced
arrangement to handle sales, service and everything air cargo for Air
Asia will springboard into fast forward at the point the carrier “extends
its line service into Shenzhen, China,” said leisure managing director
Ralf Rainer Auslaender.
“The China connection via Air Asia is key
to our strategy for extending our virtual airline service.”
Mr. Auslaender commented as FlyingTypers
presented the air cargo executive with its first Air Cargo Executive of
the Year Award in Frankfurt, Germany.
In presenting the Award, FlyingTypers
Publisher noted that, “Ralf Auslaender has made a unique and ongoing
contribution to air cargo by inventing and implementing the idea of the
virtual cargo carrier by creating a viable cargo business among carriers
that are either tour-based or discount carriers with no air cargo department.”
“Ralf is a pioneer of a new form of business
in the airline industry.
“He is a genuine original who deserves recognition
for his imagination, hard work and ongoing success.”
A brief ceremony was held Tuesday, July 10 beneath
the original “Bird of Peace” sitting atop a globe of the world
that once served as the central theme icon of the original Frankfurt International
Airport from the early 1930s until the late 1950s, outside the main passenger
terminal.
Today the bird is in a place of pride in a garden
courtyard of the InterCity Hotel near Cargo City Süd at Fraport.
Elsewhere leisure just launched its cargo services
on Air Berlin via Düsseldorf, Berlin and Nuremburg into Moscow.
“The regular line flights have been in operation
for the past three years but now we can carry cargo,” Ralf Auslaender
said.
“Next on the list of Russian cities we would
like to add air cargo into is St. Petersburg,” the executive added.
About the FlyingTypers Award, Mr. Auslaender
said:
“We are especially proud to be recognized
in this manner.
“leisure cargo is staffed by people that
are very service oriented to deliver value for money to our customers.
“Our people are entrepreneurial and are
encouraged to seek solutions and options for situations on a case by case
basis.
“There is no “one size fits all”
requisite at leisure cargo.
“We rededicate ourselves to the task at
hand to be the very best air cargo resource in the months and years ahead.”
The FlyingTypers Awards are announced
at various times during the year as the only internationally recognized
honorariums to specifically acknowledge individual effort in air cargo.
