Delta Cargo Expands B767-400 On Ice |
“What that means to shippers,” Delta said, "is greater flexibility in shipping larger quantities of dry ice per package. “More ice capacity extends Delta Cargo’s Pharma and Fresh cooling durations for temperature-sensitive cargo and access to additional network routes where dry ice capacity was previously limited.” The move that applies only to B767 aircraft, is an impactful expansion of cargo capability as Delta operates 21 B767-400s. Increased dry ice limits include standard aircraft limit for FWD compartment increasing from 100 lbs (45 kgs) to 1,250 lbs (566 kgs), and Type I packaging (Active Containers) limit increases from 100 lbs (45 kgs) to 2,000 lbs (907 kg). Delta said that its fleet of 45 767-300ERs will continue to operate under the existing dry ice limit. SSA |
