Get Ready To Jump A Hyperloop

Get Ready To Jump A Hyperloop

Will people and cargo travel in a tube on the ground at the speed of sound?
That idea may have moved a step closer to reality as a company called Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), which includes some Boeing and NASA veterans, says that it has licensed passive magnetic levitation technology to power a prototype system that promises to move humans and cargo at speeds of up to 750 miles per hour.
That adds up to Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30 minutes.
Another company Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTI) plans to unveil its plan to investors this week in Las Vegas.
Both companies (HTT & HTI) face not only major infrastructure and regulatory challenges but also a hefty price tag.
A system from Los Angeles to San Franciso could cost as much as $8 billion dollars.
