Messe München Taking Over TIACA ACF

Last Tango In Toronto . . . Pictured cutting the ribbon at TIACA’s 29th Air Cargo Forum (ACF) In Toronto, Canada on Tuesday October 16 are (from left), Kim Stangeby, VP & Chief Strategy Officer, Greater Toronto Airport Authority; Tim Strauss, Vice President Cargo, Air Canada and Sebastian Scholte, TIACA Chairman.

TIACA has made a deal, to be announced later today, with trade show giant Messe München GmbH to take over TIACA ACF, which will be repositioned so that ACF 30 scheduled for 2020 and every ACF thereafter, will appear biennially in Miami, Florida.
TIACA will stay in business as an organization based in Miami, Florida, but its future industry trade show exposure will be providing the sessions for ACF events, as well as for Messe München’s giant Air Cargo Europe next year and other Messe München shows.
“We see this as the best road forward for us,” Sebastian Scholte, Chairman TIACA told FlyingTypers.
“It’s a win-win relationship all around because our core business is networking and advocacy, and theirs is as an exhibition company.
“TIACA and the air cargo industry will benefit with this revenue-sharing model that will develop a more powerful ACF.
“Positioning ACF in Miami ‘Gateway To Americas’ will simplify future planning for the industry,” Sebastian Scholte said.
“Our Executive Summit that alternates yearly with ACF will be organized outside of USA as TIACA is a global organization and we want to reflect our global footprint. In a related development Messe München reportedly has also reached agreement to acquire Air Cargo Africa and Air Cargo India from STAT Times.
