Prince Was American Royalty

Prince Was American Royalty

The artist known as Prince died today in Minnesota.
Prince was that most unique type of singer-songwriter—a complete original. He combined so many types of music, mixing Big Band, Rock & Roll, and R&B.
Prince’s stage presence was electric—he was always beautifully costumed, alive with energy and spirit, and equipped with a beautiful voice and stupendous guitar.
Despite his great fame and long run as a pop artist, his music was volumetric—we’re sure there are more Prince masterpieces left to be discovered in the years ahead.
That he died at 57 is not only a great tragedy, but also a loss to everyone that appreciates great music and performance.
The National Football League (NFL) has released his epic 2007 Super Bowl rainstorm performance, (View Here) which has since been declared one of the greatest Super Bowl performances of all time.
The United States, like many other places in the world, has a long succession of royalty.
But our monarchs are all African American, and they have all, one after another, made immortal music.
Nat “King” Cole, “Count” Basie, “Duke” Ellington, and “Prince” Rogers Nelson have serenaded our lives and left legacies that have touched our very souls and will continue to do so forever.
   Happy landings, Prince.
Geoffrey
