Kalé Logistics Portel To Tomorrow

Amar More, Angel Ramirez, Vipul Jain

Kalé Logistics Solutions (Kalé)  acquired Portel Logistics Technologies (Portel), a Spain-based port community and regulatory compliance solutions provider.
“Kalé strongly believes that e-commerce and regulation will be the key trends driving the future of the industry and the acquisition of Portel is a defining step in Kalé’s journey to become the leading global platform for trade facilitation and logistics compliance; after our acquisition of AvLog-the e-commerce technology provider earlier this year,” said Amar More, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Kalé Logistics Solutions.
Vipul Jain, the Chairman of the Kalé Group said: “Portel’s expertise in EU regulatory mandates, combined with their strong local team and customer relationships, gives us the foundation we need to serve the European market with the depth and trust it deserves, and together, we are positioned to help the industry navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. This is also good news for Kalé’s existing customer base in the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Spain, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and other European Nations as well as our Spanish speaking customers in South America.”
Angel Ramirez, the President of GTD Group which owned Portel said: “Joining Kalé marks an exciting new chapter for Portel, our employees and our customers.
“By combining Portel’s expertise in European regulatory compliance with Kalé’s global trade facilitation capabilities, can deliver greater value to customers while accelerating innovation across our platforms.”

The company said, “the acquisition strengthens Kalé’s position in Europe and expands its ability to help customers meet evolving customs and compliance requirements across the air and maritime logistics industries.
“Portel’s flagship products, Dedalo and Vellore, will complement Kalé’s existing airport and port community systems portfolio, adding advanced regulatory and customs compliance capabilities.
“The acquisition also provides Portel’s 350-plus customers access to Kalé’s wider portfolio of logistics technology solutions, while creating new opportunities to integrate and extend services across both customer bases.
“Dedalo and Vellore support the electronic exchange of advance cargo information in accordance with Import Control System 2.0 (ICS2) standards, which requires all cargo entering Europe to be declared before arrival.
“The platforms help reduce manual customs processing across maritime and air cargo operations, improving efficiency and simplifying compliance for freight forwarders, ports, airports, and ground handlers.”
