Logitrans Istanbul Like Silk For Logistics

This week Messe München, the folks that bring you Air Cargo Europe every other year, once again organize Logitrans International Transport Logistics Exhibition in Istanbul in conjunction with EKO Fair Limited, Munich.
      Held just off the main runways of Istanbul Ataturk International Airportinside Hall 9 & 10 of the Istanbul Expo Center, the event runs November 15-17 with the trade show floors open 11:00-17:00 daily.

The New Silk Road

      China’s “One Belt – One Road” strategy will play a major role in the 2017 Logitrans conference program, event organizers report.
      The November 15 program will include discussion between Eurasian logistics professionals who will exchange first-hand experiences related to the New Silk Road and share their opinion on how the project does influence the local markets. Hereby, the panelists literally cover almost every aspect of the Silk Road: they represent companies from China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and Europe that are operating on rails tracks as well as on waterways.

      Turgut Erkeskin, (pictured here with publisher Geoffrey Arend) President of the Association of International Forwarding & Logistics Service Providers (UTIKAD) in Turkey said:
      “This event is great as we get to see both our customers and service partners together networking in one place.
      “Turkey is Europe’s seventh largest economy, so this week Istanbul business goes face to face at Logitrans with meetings that can drive our continued expansion on the international business front.
      “We welcome the opportunity to better understand the opportunities that our transportation industry offers,” Turgut said.
Hasan Hatipoglu       Hasan Hatipoglu, General Manager of Lufthansa Cargo in Turkey added, “Every year we are very happy with the quantity and quality of the participants and the chance to meet with air cargo industry representatives.”
      On Day 2 Mr. Hatipoglu will be moderating a session titled "Perilog On Air Freight." Perishable Logistics, or PeriLog, gets the once over at Logitrans Istanbul discussing various aspects of transporting and storing perishables as well as cool chain logistics.

 

Digital Highlights

      Day Two at Logitrans Istanbul will also delve into the role of digitization and its impact along the aforementioned New Silk Road.
      “The entire conference program is free of charge for all Logitrans visitors and exhibitors,” the organizers said.
      “This year as in the past we expect more that 180 exhibitors from 28 countries and overall throughput at the event to top more that 13,000 visitors.
      There’s still time to climb onboard.
